After the deluge of Final Fantasy announcements in the September Direct, we finally have confirmation of a release date for some mainline numbered titles. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will hit the Switch on April 30th, and we even have some brand new artwork from the fantastic Akihiko Yoshida.

Featuring a unique take on active time battling and massive array of abilities thanks to the updated License Board, FFXII is something of a cult classic that seems quite perfect for on-the-go play.

Square Enix’s PR has also confirmed that Final Fantasy X and X-2 will launch April 16th.

Hopefully we’ll learn of release dates for VII, IX, Chocobo’s Dungeon, and Crystal Chronicles soon enough!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
