Ever since the Phantom Thief Joker was announced as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first Fighter’s Pass DLC character, many have been wondering if Persona 5 could be ported Switch. If a new domain name update is anything to go by, it may be announced sooner than we thought.

As Persona Central reports, the “P5R.jp” domain, which was first registered way back in April 2017 alongside other Persona domains and renewed in April 2018, has been updated once again on December 25th. What makes this update intriguing is that it’s changed ownership from Onamae, a Japanese domain registrar, to Atlus itself.

This sort of update has typically preceded similar announcements. PQ2.jp was updated in a similar fashion and Persona Q2 was announced 6 days later, while Catherine Full Body had an 8 day gap between its server move and announcement.

While Persona 5 R may not be a port, it does line up with a recent rumor/leak which also correctly predicted a Granblue fighting game from Arc System Works.

Chances are, if past trends are any example, we’ll find out about P5R during the hour-long Persona 5 the Animation broadcast airing December 30th in Japan.
