This weekend, Splatoon 2 will be pitting heroes against villains in a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate-themed Splatfest, and, as always, some new artwork has been drawn up for the occasion. If you’ve always wondered what controller of choice your favorite Splatoon characters wield, take a gander below:

From the artwork we can see that Marina rocks a wired GameCube pad, Pearl is taking the Joy-Con grip for a spin, Callie has a Smash Bros. Pro Controller, and, most surprisingly of all, Captain Cuttlefish is using a single Joy-Con. Marie is simply a spectator, though she and her cousin are both wearing matching earrings.

The Splatfest will begin worldwide starting this Friday, so be sure to break yourself away from Smash Bros. to dive back into Inkopolis!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
