In case you need a little direction when it comes to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s multiple modes to play, it’s been announced a special Spirit Board event will be kicking off later this week. For a three day period certain Spirits will be more common than usual, all tied together by a single theme. This time around? It’s all about glasses.

Shown already are EarthBound’s Jeff, Splatoon’s Crusty Sean, Pikmin 3’s Brittney, Metal Gear’s Dr. Strangelove, and Bayonetta’s Cereza. Each sport their own kind of eyewear but differ in their rarities and effects. Beating them won’t just get you the Spirit, but bonus gold for the event period to help you with buying even more in game.
I’m curious to see just how much this sways their appearance rate. I know I definitely want to grab Jeff for my growing collection — but other characters already seem common enough, as I’ve already spotted Strangelove more times than I can count.
Is it just these five, or is any farsighted phantasm up for grabs? It won’t take long to learn, with the event starting up this Friday afternoon in Japan, and presumably Thursday night in America.
