Next year, Level-5 will be releasing the most ambitious title in the Yo-Kai Watch series yet on the Nintendo Switch, with the fourth mainline entry being exclusive to the system. While we’ve known about it for several months, the only gameplay footage released so far was captured off-screen by Tokyo Game Show attendees, but that has finally changed with the release of the game’s first trailer. Check it out:

The trailer mostly focuses on the “Shadowside” universe, which is filled with slightly darker designs for the Yo-Kai, but we do get a brief glimpse at the original trilogy’s protagonist coming through a portal with Jibanyan and Whisper in tow.

We’ll be sure to bring you more coverage on Yo-Kai Watch 4 as we approach the game’s recently-announced Spring 2019 release in Japan.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
