Across seven generations of Pokémon games the biggest challenges are usually the Champions. Expertly trained and powerful Pokémon paired with climactic themes give all the aplomb such a showdown deserves, and this track from Hoenn is no exception.
Building off of what Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire already did, this version of Steven’s theme goes full metal to play up his Steel type association. Gone are the synth lines that evoke glittering minerals and instead are hard rock guitars and crushing beats. A far cry from this arrangement’s supervisor Soshi Abe’s previous work on Breath of the Wild for sure but no less awesome.
