Windjammers, a classic NeoGeo arcade hit about extreme frisbee sports, will be getting a surprise sequel from DotEmu, as shown in today’s surprise Indie Highlight video from Nintendo of Europe.
The trailer shows no gameplay, but shows an animated short of two Windjammers (that’s what I’ll call them) playing an intense match while using classic techniques. The YouTube description says it will feature “entirely hand-drawn 2D animations”, and it also confirms the game will be released on Switch and PC, making it a console exclusive.
The game was given a launch of 2019 for the Switch, but if you want to throw some flying discs sooner, the Direct went on to confirm that the original Windjammers will be coming to Switch on October 23, 2018, at least for Europe.
