Mario Kart 8 was one of the few games (along with Splatoon) where I genuinely love the motion controls. Now it looks like Nintendo’s following through with another new way to play, and it’s with the customizable craftwork of Labo.

Using the Toycon Motorbike build from the Labo Variety Kit and a new update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can play the game with your own creation. This looks to specifically be for bikes in game, and even if you’ve gotten used to riding with no handlebars this opens the door for more and future Labo integration on Switch.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
