Sounds like Nintendo wants to bring some Inkopolis style to the real world, with giveaways for an exclusive World Championship shirt taking place:

No details have been provided as to how this distribution will work, though you should have your My Nintendo QR code ready regardless to pick up your matching popsocket. Details will be supplied via the Splatoon 2 Switch News channel on your system, and you can pick up the same shirt in-game starting June 7th. Keep those tentacles crossed that you’ll be able to get one to stay as fresh as can be.
