Yesterday Arc System Works surprised fighting game fans with the announcement that its beloved and incredibly long-titled Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R would be heading to Switch later this year. A later tweet from the company confirms that it and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle are just the tip of the iceberg, as the company will “continue to release fighting games” for the system.

While the company has mostly worked with its own IP like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, they have also been contracted to work on licensed games like the canonical Persona spin-off Arena games and this year’s well received Dragon Ball FighterZ. As these games are beholden to another publisher, however, it’s unclear if they’re included in the sweeping statement.

Regardless it’d be awesome to see the gorgeous Guilty Gear Xrd games make the leap over! We’ll be sure to bring you news as it comes in.
