Japan’s Nikkei Trendy recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino about the company’s future plans, and given the platforms success the Nintendo Switch naturally came up in the conversation. What Hino revealed, however, might come as a surprise. Here’s the quote, translated courtesy of Gematsu:

“Basically, in the future our main titles will all be released on Nintendo Switch. The idea is that what we have created for 3DS will move over to Switch”

This is very promising in terms of support, though it’s unclear what classifies as a “main title” – Ni no Kuni could be seen as more of a passion project, for example.

Nevertheless, Inazuma Eleven and the Japan exclusive Snack World are already confirmed for the Switch, while the 3DS comment makes it seem incredibly likely that the upcoming fresh take on Yo-Kai Watch and future Layton games will also make the leap over.

A 20th anniversary title is also planned by Level-5 for release this year, and we’ll be sure to bring you news if it too heads to Nintendo’s Switch!
