Luigi’s Balloon World, the newest mode added to Super Mario Odyssey earlier today, has players running around to quickly locate balloons hidden by other players from around the world. While many of these balloons are a blast to find, some less than friendly players have been placing balloons out of the normal play field by clipping into out of bounds areas, making them impossible to reach.
Some of these balloons are actually visible but just out of reach, while others are completely unseeable to the player. The most frustrating part about this is that players can spend their hard-earned coins trying again and again to get these impossible balloons with no knowledge that they cannot be obtained.
So far, I’ve encountered out of bounds balloons over ten times in the two hours I’ve played Luigi’s Balloon World, with countless others complaining of issues on Reddit and Twitter. Hopefully Nintendo has a fix up its sleeves, or this cute minigame might just be too frustrating to continue playing for some.
