As mentioned in our last article detailing the Detective Pikachu film, production would soon start in London. It didn’t even take that long though, as today is the day that the project moves from pre-production to principal photography!

Over the next few weeks, filming will take place throughout London. The movie won’t be out until May 10th, 2019, which will give plenty of time for Moving Picture Company (known for its work on The Jungle Book and Wonder Woman) and Framestore (known for its work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) adding in the film’s visual effects, along with the rest of the post-production team to edit and compose the picture.

We’ll soon be able to dive into the 3DS version of the property when it hits the handheld March. Hopefully that will tide us over until 2019!
