The second installment in the acclaimed SteamWorld series has been announced for a release on Nintendo Switch, according to a tweet from developer Image & Form.

SteamWorld Dig, “platform mining adventure with strong Metroidvanian influences,” sees players take on the role of Rusty, a “lone mining steambot,” as they “dig [their] way through the old earth, gaining riches while uncovering the ancient threat that lurks below…”

The title previously saw releases on the Nintendo 3DS in 2013 and the Wii U in 2014.

Its direct sequel, SteamWorld Dig 2, launched on the Nintendo Switch last September.

SteamWorld Dig will hit the Nintendo Switch eShop on February 1st, priced at $9.99 and €9.99.
