A new interview between Splatoon 2 developers and video game news source Glixel has unveiled another mode headed to the game when it launches next month: “League Battle.”

The mode pits groups of players together in two-hour long play sessions to duke it out to see which group can earn the most points.

“[League Battle] will be a mode that players can play either in groups of two or four, and it will present you with a two-hour period in which your group competes with other groups to see how many points you can earn,” said programming director Shintaro Sato. “Because the results of that League Battle play will be displayed in a ranking at the end of every two-hour period, we can give players goals to strive for, and hope to encourage them to keep competing and pushing.”

Splatoon 2 is set to drop for the Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 21st.
