A few days ago Sega held a Licensing Global Team Meeting in Las Vegas. While these events typically don’t contain much in the way of news, a sneaky screenshot has been spotted on some of the promo materials showing a brand new zone.
The folks over at the Sonic Retro forums got to work and found a slightly higher resolution image, which you can check out below:
It certainly looks very Castlevania! We’ll have to wait and see if it’s a riff on Sonic 4 Episode 2’s Sylvania Castle Zone or something brand new, but it definitely looks like a stark change from what we’ve seen so far.
We’ll be sure to let you know when this stage is officially announced. Sonic Mania launches for the Nintendo Switch later this year.
