The classic Rare send-up Yooka-Laylee made a bit of a splash back in December when the developers at Playtonic announced the cancellation of the Wii U version in favor of a Switch port. At the time they promised Kickstarter backers who specifically backed for a Wii U version would be able to change their chosen platform, and now that survey is finally available.

Those who want to change platforms simply have to head on over to Yooka-Laylee’s Backerkit page and make the changes there. Those who wanted a Wii U version can choose between PC, PS4, Xbox One or Switch. More specific info can be found in Playtonic’s own Kickstarter finalisation FAQ.

It’s worth noting that only the PS4 and Xbox One versions are able to be upgraded to physical editions. In the FAQ, Playtonic say they “would love to do a Physical Release on Switch”, but creating physical editions for the system is beyond the scope of the Kickstarter funds right now. The game will simply come as a digital code for redemption on the Switch’s eShop.

Yooka-Laylee will launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 11th, and more details regarding the Switch version’s release timing “will be revealed in the future.” The deadline for making changes to the Backerkit pages is February 16th, so act fast if you want to change anything!
