UPDATE: And it’s over! We’ll be sure to update this post if an archive of the stream is uploaded, but given its myriad tech issues don’t be surprised if it doesn’t show up. Check out the latest news posts to see what was announced for Nintendo platforms!

It’s almost time for the event Sonic fans have been anticipating ever since March: The 25th Anniversary Party in San Diego!

Last month Sonic Team confirmed that the event will shed light on their 2017 release, so it’s definitely worth tuning in to see what’s next for the blue blur. Fans can also expect performances from Crush 40, of Live & Learn fame, and intriguingly one of the producers of the 2018 Sonic movie will be in attendance.

Of course there’s no guarantee the next game will be for Nintendo systems, but given the character’s long-standing relationship with the house of Mario it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see a Nintendo release. There’s even a massive Sonic eShop sale going on right now, but that could just be for the general celebrations and not a sign of things to come.

The show starts at 6pm Pacific Time, and while the party will run till 10pm it’s not known how long the live stream will last. You can catch the embed below:
