Today’s surprise announcement of the Pikachu-and-Eevee-themed special edition Nintendo Switch may point to the legitimacy of recent “leaked” photos of a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate-themed special edition Switch.
Twitter user ShiggyNeo points out the similarity of the Nintendo Switch Online service branding and notice on both boxes.
Looks like the leaked Smash Bros Ultimate bundle is real. Bundle picture shares the same branding and notice for the online subscription service as the just announced Pokemon bundle. pic.twitter.com/mkc0lD5slJ

The “leak” of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bundle occurred over two weeks ago, found on a French gaming forum called JVC.
The “leaked” bundle appears to include uniquely-colored Joy-Con controllers (themed gray with the Super Smash Bros. emblem across them) and a Nintendo Switch dock with black-and-white character artwork on it.
Nintendo Wire chose not to report on these photos when they emerged due to doubts over their veracity; however, due to the photos’ inclusion of the Nintendo Switch Online branding seen on the Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! bundles revealed today, we believe there’s a good chance that these “leaked” images of a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bundle are real.
