If any of you made the plunge last week when Amazon UK’s listings of the SNES Classic Mini went live, you may want to check your e-mail. NeoGAF user Blam started a thread on the forum last night, showing off a cancellation e-mail:

We’re writing about your Amazon.co.uk order [number redacted] which includes more than one Nintendo Class Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
Unfortunately, there’s been a change to the availability of this item on Amazon.co.uk. As a result, there is now only one listing for the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System available (priced at 69.99):
As such, we have reduced the quantity of the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System in your order to one (1) unit.
We understand this isn’t what you expected when you placed your order and apologise for the inconvenience.
We hope to see you again soon.
While trying to figure out why there were two separate listings, this got fans wondering what “change to the availability of this item” means. If you’re the glass half full kind of person, then it must mean that there will finally be a limit of one unit per account/person/address/etc. on Amazon UK. Glass half empty? Then there’s not that much stock.
So far though, it appears that this will deter scalpers from striking gold as they did with the NES Classic Edition. We hope that other retailers throughout the world will adopt this policy, in-store and online, when the console goes up for pre-order again and goes on sale in September.
