Previews for FromSoftware’s Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods went live this morning and, generally speaking, it seems the game is still a ways off from release. While people have enjoyed what they played, the previews don’t paint the best technical picture from a performance standpoint. That’s why it was so surprising when a preview from The Guardian claimed the game would be releasing on September 24, 2026, exactly one month after the end of this weekend’s closed network test. That would put it smack-dab in the middle of one of the busiest months for gaming in a long time.

As it turns out, though, that date is inaccurate. Eurogamer reached out directly to Nintendo for confirmation and was given the following response:

The release date is inaccurate because there is no information regarding [the] release date of the Duskbloods.

Now, FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa stated back in February that The Duskbloods was still scheduled for a 2026 release date. A belated port for Elden Ring, titled “Tarnished Edition,” will also finally be releasing on August 28th, 2026, which means FromSoftware has likely already moved its team members onto The Duskbloods for a final push. I’m not so sure the game will still land this year, but we at least know it won’t be in a month’s time.
