New sales data on Star Fox’s UK launch has emerged, with the remake selling significantly faster than its predecessors.

According to The Game Business co-founder Christopher Dring, the Nintendo Switch 2 title “sold almost double what Star Fox Zero did during its opening week” in terms of physical sales. Zero launched on the Wii U in 2016 as a reimagining of Star Fox 64.

Dring also reported that Star Fox outperformed the launch figures of the 2011 3DS remaster, Star Fox 64 3D, by 70%.

This data only includes sales of physical copies, meaning that performance of the newly released remake could be even more impressive if digital sales were factored in – especially as Star Fox 64 3D was not available digitally at the time it launched.

Star Fox is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, having launched last week on June 25th. A playable demo is available via the Nintendo eShop, and a different demo is available at various retailers across the US and Canada.
