A playable demo of the upcoming Star Fox 64 remake is heading to various retailers across the United States and Canada, featuring the Switch 2 game’s opening level.

Nintendo’s “Retail Offers” webpage reveals that the demo is available at participating Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart stores in the US. Other Nintendo Switch 2 titles are also playable, including Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Pokémon Pokopia, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and more.

Nintendo also recently published an announcement that the demo will also appear in all EB Games stores in Canada, as well as select Walmart and Best Buy locations (which are listed in the article).

The in-store demo lets users play through the game’s first stage, Corneria. It is a different demo from the downloadable one available for Switch 2 owners, which offers the Training and Meteo stages.

Star Fox release date

Star Fox will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th, 2026. You can pre-order the game at Amazon or GameStop.
