Capcom continues to bring port after port to Nintendo Switch 2. Coming off the heels of announcements for Monster Hunter Wilds and Dragons Dogma 2, Devil May Cry 5 was featured in June’s Nintendo Direct. Originally released in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, it wasn’t until a late 2020 upgrade to PlayStation 5 that it would gain that “Devil Hunter Edition” subtitle.

Reuniting Dante and Devil May Cry 4 protagonist Nero, DMC5 goes to great lengths to make its playable characters feel distinct and stylish as you cut your way through waves of demons. Dante still has his multiple styles and weaponry, while Nero now rocks interchangeable prosthetic arms with finite uses to enhance his swordplay.

Also along for the ride are V, a mysterious poetry fan that summons a trio of demons to fight for him and the Devil Hunter Edition-specific Vergil, cutting through reality and reminding us all that might controls everything. On Switch 2 the game will be delivering 60 fps both docked and handheld, delivering where it counts for this kind of game.
