Early on in this morning’s Nintendo Direct, Capcom revealed that it would be bringing a couple of its games to the Nintendo Switch 2 this summer. One was pretty obvious: Onimusha: Way of the Sword. We even guessed this would be the case as it makes too much sense. What we didn’t expect was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expanded version of the original sequel that hit PC and consoles in 2024.

The details are still pretty light on what Dark Arisen will bring to the game, but the trailer did make one curious mention: this Switch 2 version is single-player only. I think that might be a miscommunication, but Capcom appears to have dropped co-op from this port. That’s probably to aid with performance, which looked a little rough in the trailer. The game still runs poorly on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Release dates for Onimusha and Dragon’s Dogma 2 on Switch 2

Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be releasing on September 25th, 2026, along with the other ports. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will hit on October 9th, 2026, though it’s unclear if any new content will come to the other versions.
