In a surprise announcement at The Game Awards 2024, Koei Tecmo revealed that a brand-new Ninja Gaiden game will be released next summer. Titled Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, this latest entry seems to be something of a continuation of the Xbox-era titles with protagonist Ryu Hayabusa handing the reins off to a new ninja trainee. It’s also returning to the series’ roots as a side-scrolling action platformer, complete with brutal action and violence.
Developed by The Game Kitchen, the team behind the Blasphemous games, Ragebound is currently planned for release on all major platforms. Nintendo has uploaded a trailer indicating it will be on the current Switch, so there’s no fear of needing to upgrade to the Switch 2 for this. The game should be released in Summer 2025, but we don’t have much else to go off of.
It looks sick though.
