A talented animator has “de-made” cutscenes from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the style of Game Boy graphics.
The video, created by YouTube user “it”, includes many familiar faces and major events from the game refitted with glorious 8-bit visuals and a monochrome color palette. It’s not just a visual feast, though, as the animation also includes a Game Boy-style rendition of Tears of the Kingdom’s main theme.
Please note: The following video contains story spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The creator has previously made similar Game Boy-inspired visuals and sounds for Tears of the Kingdom’s boss fights, as well as the final boss and finale of Breath of the Wild. For those who have yet to finish the mainline Zelda titles on Switch, these videos may, of course, also contain spoilers.
For even more retro Zelda goodness, look no further than Nintendo Wire’s very own series of de-make animations, which includes Breath of the Wild on Game Boy Color and Ocarina of Time on Game Boy Advance.
