Out of the blue this morning, Nintendo has announced that it will be hosting an Indie World Showcase this week to cap off October 2026. Set for October 28th, 2026, at 7 a.m. PT, the presentation will run for 15 minutes and include announcements for new indie games on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Conveniently, this is one day before the release of the 40th Anniversary Zelda Edition of the Switch 2 console, meaning new buyers will have a ton of stuff to look forward to.

Honestly, I couldn’t tell you what might even be in this stream. We’ll probably see a montage of “coming soon” stuff we already know about, but 15 minutes for new announcements likely means we’re getting world premieres, to steal from Geoff Keighley’s vernacular. There could be ports of indie games that haven’t been revealed yet, but everyone and their mother has jumped over to the Switch 2 considering the price of CPU components keeps increasing and Nintendo’s device is the only “cheap” thing on the market.

I suppose there is the expansion for Hollow Knight: Silksong coming. One old time’s sake, we can ask in unison, “Where’s Silksong?”
