For the first time in a long time, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting some brand new spirits! In the past these have been used to bring in third party franchises or celebrate Nintendo game launches, and this time around it’s technically covering both.
To celebrate its launch, two new spirits from Bravely Default II will arrive on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board this Friday! Challenge these Excillant spirits for five days from 26/02! pic.twitter.com/yj1Wxuzda4

See, the Bravely Default games are published by Square Enix in Japan while Nintendo takes care of the series everywhere else. Though it’s firmly in the fold of standout games on 3DS (and soon, Switch) this distinction is likely why no spirits for the games were included at launch.
Thankfully, that won’t be the case any longer. To celebrate Bravely Default II’s launch this Friday, two spirits are being added using the game’s illustration style. These will likely be Seth & Gloria and Elvis & Adelle based on the preview image’s layout.
Be sure to head over to the Spirit Board to grab these Bravely Default II spirits starting Friday, February 26th. They’ll be around for five days, giving you plenty of time to clear these fights and still enjoy BD2’s launch.
