Today’s Pokémon Direct revealed Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, a Nintendo Switch remake of the 2006 titles Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, respectively.

The game retains several features of the original games, including a personality test to determine the Pokémon the player will be (one of 16 species), but also adds a few new goodies.

Pokémon not in the original games, like Lucario, can be seen as playable, while Mega Evolution returns as a mechanic from Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon for the Nintendo 3DS.

An auto mode will automatically move the player while turning off enemy encounters; similarly, an auto-attack system will permit the player to use the most effective move they have against an enemy by hitting “A.”

Also, up to eight Pokémon encountered in dungeons will also be able to be added to players’ teams.

The game is shown sporting a brand-new cel-shaded art style, completely dissimilar to any past entries.

A demo of the game can be downloaded on the Nintendo Switch eShop starting today, with the ability to transfer save data to the full game.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX launches on March 6th, 2020.
