This week is a busy one for remasters of older games as Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will finally be hitting PC and consoles on October 1st, 2026. Since we’ve heard next to nothing about this game since it was announced (other than Koei Tecmo dropping a Switch 1 port), Nintendo Everything reached out to developer Omega Force to get some technical information about the game.
Omega Force producer Tomohiko Sho told Nintendo Everything that the team “adjusted the game so that it can handle the same number of characters as the others versions,” so there is no compromise in terms of enemy density. This does mean that DW3 Complete Edition Remastered runs at a variable frame rate, with targets between “30 to 60 fps.” That’s pretty similar to Dynasty Warriors Origins from earlier this year, a game that would benefit greatly from an update to support docked VRR mode.
As for resolution, Omega Force states that DW3 Complete Edition Remastered runs at 2560×1440 in docked mode with handheld being an upscaled 1920×1080. That likely means DLSS is in play for both, though 1440p is perfectly fine for a console such as the Nintendo Switch 2. The team is reportedly looking into “considering whether to add graphics priority or performance-priority modes in a future update,” which I think would be a good idea. Having a locked 60 fps for docked would be better than a higher resolution at worse performance.
