Pokémon fan site PokéBeach has unveiled the details of McDonald’s upcoming Pokémon TCG 30th anniversary event. Set to take place at participating locations between November 5th–December 9th, 2026, the promotion will see 15 new trading cards to collect available in individual four-card booster packs, much like previous years. Each pack, included with a Happy Meal, comes with three regular cards and a special holographic one.
As PokéBeach details, there will be six holographic cards this year, leaving the remaining nine as regular cards. While the specific Pokémon featured on the cards have not been divulged, McDonald’s will be offering the choice between a regular toy of a “Pokémon Essential Handbook” alongside the booster packs. The site speculates that the toy may actually be a card display, but all this information is preliminary and subject to change.
The hope, as IGN writes, is that this year’s promotion will include the Japanese exclusive Pikachu card that launched last year. A rather cute design where Pikachu is reaching for a Big Mac, it has only ever been available during the promotion and has never been printed in English. Past events from McDonald’s have mostly featured reprints of older Pokémon TCG cards, but maybe with the 30th anniversary of the franchise happening, this year will be different.
