We’re only one day away from the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on Switch 2, so developer CD Projekt Red has detailed the exact release time for digital pre-orders on the eShop. Along with that, we now know how much space the game will occupy once downloaded, which is shockingly not a dramatic amount of storage.
On Twitter, CDPR community manager Marcin Momot noted that on Nintendo Switch 2, The Witcher 3 will occupy roughly 50 GB of storage. Because of how Nintendo handles certain Switch 2 upgrades, this new version of The Witcher 3 will be a separate product as far as the eShop is concerned. If you already own the game digitally, the upgrade has been free since this was announced. If you have the physical version for Switch 1, you’ll need to wait until release to nab your free upgrade.
When does the upgrade release? Well, in the US, the game will go live on the East Coast at 6 a.m. EDT. As you would expect, that means West Coast players will get it at 3 a.m. PDT, with Central time zone at 5 a.m. CDT, and Mountain at 4 a.m. MDT. A handy graph from CDPR details the unlock times around the world, with pretty much everyone getting it within an hour or two of one another.
