If you’re still holding out hope for a new entry in the Mother/EarthBound series, then I suppose you’ll have to make do with some new merchandise designed by series creator Shigesato Itoi. On his official company website, 1101, a new line of calendars and planners has been revealed that features illustrations of Mr. Saturn, Ness, Paula, Jeff, and more. They’re a little pricey, but the designs look outstanding and are sure to brighten up the day of any EarthBound fans.
Set to release on September 1st, 2026, the new items include two differently sized whiteboard calendars for 2027, a Mr. Saturn mini-notebook, and two differently sized Dungeon Man notebooks. I’m honestly in love with the simplicity of the whiteboards, but Dungeon Man is calling to me. The fabric used for the planner looks so comfy, and I’m happy there’s a means of refilling the paper. I would hate to fill the pages up and have to retire the notebook.
On the preview pages for the whiteboards, you can see a sample of each month of the year. Even the Mr. Saturn planner has shots of the interior designs and some fun photos with mini Saturns posing with it. They aren’t wildly elaborate, but then neither is the Mother series. It’s always had a kind of subdued nature that makes it so approachable, yet simultaneously weird.
