If you’re one of the lucky few who will be attending San Diego Comic-Con this year, which takes place between July 23rd-26th, 2026, you’ll have the opportunity to sample Nintendo Switch Sports Resort ahead of anyone else. Nintendo has revealed that its upcoming sports game sequel will have its first US hands-on at the legendary comic convention, allowing con goers to experience four of the 12 available activities for the first time.

In addition to that, a competition against The Rizzler will also be taking place. Set for July 23rd at 1:30 p.m. PT, attendees who have already sampled Switch Sports Resort can take to the stage to try their luck at defeating the social media giant. I’m not sure if It’s prudent to beat a 10 year-old on stage in front of thousands, but then everybody needs to learn defeat at some point in their lives. Nintendo will be randomly selecting opponents, and no prizes will be offered apart from getting to deliver a dose of reality to the younger generation.

In addition to Switch Sports Resort, Splatoon Raiders will be playable on the SDCC show floor as well. That one is less exciting because SDCC 2026 starts on the same day the game hits store shelves. Still, if you’re undecided and happen to be attending this year’s convention, I suppose you can play the game to figure out if it’s for you. I happen to enjoy Splatoon quite a bit, so I’m sold regardless.
