The rumors were true, and I can’t begin to tell you just how excited I am as a lifelong The Legend of Zelda fan. During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that an Ocarina of Time remake is coming in 2026, and boy, does it look fantastic.

Unlike the 3DS remake released in 2011, this version of Ocarina of Time appears to have been rebuilt from the ground up. While no gameplay was shown during the presentation, we did get a glimpse of a young Link resting inside his home in Kokiri Forest. The trailer was also fully narrated, which could hint at voice acting making its way into the final game.

At the moment, we don’t know much beyond the fact that the game is scheduled to launch in 2026, with more information promised at a later date. Here’s hoping a dedicated Zelda Direct is in our near future. In the meantime, stay tuned to Nintendo Wire for all the latest updates as they arrive!
