A new trailer for upcoming platformer Yoshi and the Mysterious Book shows off some examples of the game’s puzzle-solving elements, as well as interactions with its weird and wonderful creatures.

The video, titled “An Appetite for Discovery,” starts by showing Yoshi coming across a sleeping green giant creature, which coughs up flowers when the player slams down on its belly button.

Yoshi can also spit out a boomerang-shaped slug to cut grass and grab distant collectibles, and interact with pink bubblegum-like creatures that look like Kirby.

Earlier today, we reported on a collaboration between Nintendo and convenience store chain FamilyMart, which have organized a campaign across Japan wherein participants can obtain and win exclusive Yoshi merchandise.
