Square Enix has released a playable demo of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S.

The demo covered Chapters 1 and 2 from the full game, offering several hours of gameplay of the Nibelheim flashback with Cloud and Sephiroth as well as the Grasslands segment.

Players can carry their save data from the demo over to the full game when it is released on June 3rd. The demo also offers some bonuses, including a Kupo Charm that increases the chances of obtaining extra materials, and a Survival Set which includes potions and ethers.

Rebirth is the second installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, originally released on the PlayStation 5 in February 2024.

Last year, Square Enix confirmed that the untitled third game will release on Switch 2, so Nintendo fans can eventually expect to have access to the full Final Fantasy VII story.
