Sega has announced that the physical version of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Switch 2 will be hitting retail outlets on March 26th, 2026. Priced at $69.99, it comes roughly three months after the digital edition hit the eShop on December 8th, 2025. Sega also reconfirmed that this belated release will have the entire game on the cartridge, unlike previous Sega releases for Nintendo’s latest console that have been Game-Key Cards.

Since CrossWorlds released last year, there have been a number of paid and free DLC packs released that include new characters, karts, and tracks. These likely won’t be included on the Nintendo Switch 2 cartridge, though I would expect the game to be up-to-date with regard to patches. It’s possible Sega might include some of the data so that buyers can jump straight online without needing to install a bunch of updates, but that’s just speculation.

If you’ve been holding out for the physical Switch 2 edition, pre-orders should be open later today. There’s no indication that there will be any retailer specific bonuses, though Amazon did have an “exclusive edition” for the game that included a poster.
