Sonic Racing: CrosswWorlds continues to grow its lineup of free Sega crossover characters. While we knew NiGHTS would be joining, in today’s State of Play Japan three more were revealed – and two of them are sure to make Sonic fans happy!

AiAi is here, for everyone who likes Super Monkey Ball, but it’s the addition of Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf that’s got people talking. These two were introduced in the Sonic IDW comics, and while they’ve made some occasional appearances in mobile games, this is their first appearance in a console title.
NiGHTS will be added this December, with AiAi following in January. They’ll each have a signature vehicle, the Dream Sleeper and Banana Cruiser respectively, paired to their release. Tangle and Whisper will instead be added as a couple in February.
Also announced today, we now know when the game’s paid SpongeBob SquarePants content will be added. Fans of nautical nonsense can look forward to SpongeBob and Patrick as racers, the Patty Wagon vehicle, a Bikini Bottom track and more when it’s added to the game on November 19th.
