Fans of Pokémon and Animal Crossing, rejoice! Earlier this morning, Nintendo announced that the upcoming Pokémon adventure Pokopia will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5th, 2026, for a suggested retail price of $69.99.

Based on the trailer shown so far, Pokopia looks like a fascinating mix of life-sim, Minecraft-style building, and the Pokémon universe, where players can create their own Pokémon world while controlling a slightly unsettling yet charming anthropomorphic Ditto.

Pokémon Pokopia will be the first Nintendo published Switch 2 title to use a Game Key Card

As we reported earlier today, Pokopia will also mark Nintendo’s first physical release distributed on a Game Key Card, rather than a traditional game cartridge. Fans of physical media might not be thrilled with this change, but we’ll have to wait and see if it actually affects sales.

Stay tuned for more Pokopia news as we get closer to the game’s March 5th release.
