As part of its livestream event yesterday, Limited Run Games announced a number of classic games would be getting re-released on digital platforms next year. One, in particular, made headlines for not only being a cult-classic, but one of the rarer NES games ever made: Little Samson. Originally released in 1992, the game was overlooked in its day as a dime-a-dozen platformer, but would later be critically reevaluated as one of the better games of its era. It’s now something of a sleeper hit.

Thankfully, you won’t need to shell out absurd prices for an NES cartridge if you’d like to own it physically. Set to be ported to LRG’s Carbon Engine, Little Samson will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Switch, include all the features you’d expect from a modern re-release. LRG hasn’t spoken too much about what updates it has made to the game, but a brief trailer highlights some old-school sprite work and the incredible soundtrack that fans know and love.

At some point, LRG is bound to create a physical version of the game for fans that want such an option. Everyone else will be able to enjoy the game digitally, which is nice for such an obscure gem.
