With just about a month and a half under its belt now, it’s safe to say that Mario Kart World has already made an excellent mark on the Nintendo Switch 2’s legacy. Now that the long-awaited release of Donkey Kong Bananza has finally arrived, it feels as if Mario Kart World is sharing the spotlight for the first time since the system’s launch. This latest wave of Mario Kart World icons features 14 new character elements alongside seven new backgrounds. These include new renders for fan-favorites such as Mario, Peach, and Yoshi, as well as the last of the NPC drivers with Cow, Pianta, and Coin Coffer finally making an appearance. All of these will be available from now until 4:59 p.m. on July 23rd, at which point they’ll be gone for the foreseeable future. Take a moment to peek at the full list to see if there’s anything interesting before they’re gone.
As mentioned earlier, this set marks the final wave of Mario Kart World icons for Nintendo Switch Online. While reruns later down the line for those who missed any are certainly possible, it’s likely that they won’t return for a long time. Make sure to pick up any you might want before next week, you won’t want to miss out and have to wait for them to come back in the future!
