Last night, Nintendo announced that the previously revealed Super Mario Strikers would be heading to NSO’s GameCube app on July 3rd, 2025. As one of the first games announced for the service when Nintendo did its full Switch 2 unveiling, fans were wondering if we’d need to wait eons to get the game or not. Technically coming in at just under a month after the console’s launch, it seems Nintendo wants to keep momentum strong with the Switch 2 by giving fans continuous support.
Super Mario Strikers has amassed quite the cult following over the years. While it wasn’t unsuccessful back in the day, it didn’t quite outclass both Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour or Mario Power Tennis. Still, Nintendo was on quite a tear with Mario sports games during the sixth console generation, as even the often overlooked Mario Superstar Baseball was solid fun. Strikers, though, is maybe the most aggressive The Big N has gotten with its mascot hero.
You’ll soon be able to find out what I mean when Super Mario Strikers hits the Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube app next week. You’ll need to be subscribed to NSO’s Expansion Pack Tier, which runs $50 a year for a single account or $80 a year for a family one.
