It’s hard to believe Final Fantasy IX is turning 25 on July 7th. I still remember playing it on my beat-up PlayStation 1, with a disk tray so finicky I had to weigh it down just to get the game to load. But I played it anyway—and I’m so glad I did. Now, to celebrate 25 incredible years of this beloved classic, Square-Enix has launched a brand-new anniversary website, featuring upcoming merch, fresh news, and a gorgeous new logo marking the occasion. Let’s dive in and see what it has to offer!

Final Fantasy IX Merch

Square Enix has revealed a slew of new merch to celebrate the anniversary, starting with new figures of Zidane and Garnet. These are part of the company’s FORM-ISM line and will retail for 6,930 yen each—roughly $46 USD. Both figures are expected to release around August 30th in Japan.

For fans with a taste for the finer things, there’s also a silver necklace modeled after Garnet’s in-game accessory. It’ll go for 38,500 yen (about $250 USD) and is set to release in Japan this November.

A lineup of plush toys was also announced, featuring “deformed” versions of Zidane, Vivi, Garnet, Steiner, Eiko, Quina, Amarant Coral, Freya, Beatrix, and Kuja. Each plush will run you 4,400 yen, or about $30 USD. They drop on August 16th in Japan—stay tuned for pre-order news!

Square Enix also confirmed a 25th anniversary vinyl album is on the way, featuring stunning new artwork by Toshiyuki Itahana and a brand-new recording of Melodies of Life. No word yet on U.S. pre-orders, but stay tuned.

Lastly, a picture book titled Vivi and Grandpa on the Departure Day was announced. It’ll feature new artwork and retail for 1,320 yen (around $9 USD), hitting shelves in Japan on July 2nd.
