One month ago, we received more news on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the newest title in the Pokémon series. In a surprise announcement, we received more news in today’s Nintendo Direct, explaining the mysterious symbol shown at the end of the Pokémon Presents.
A day/night cycle was teased and we have now gotten confirmation on what exactly happens during nighttime. Z-A Royale will pit you against numerous challengers around Lumiose City, scattered within Battle Zones. If one of them spots you, a battle will begin. You’re also able to surprise attack Trainers which will net you an extra attack.
You’ll begin at Z Rank, with the end goal being to reach A Rank. By defeating Trainers, you’ll receive points that can be used to purchase a Challenge Ticket. Challenge Tickets are used for Rank Up Battles, allowing you to challenge a Trainer and raising your rank if you defeat them.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released in late 2025 on Nintendo Switch! We still have the Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd, which could give us more news on Legends Z-A or confirm whether it’ll have a Switch 2 version. We’ll find out next Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET | 8 a.m. CST!
