Tetris 99 was first released back in February 2019 for Nintendo Switch Online as a new version of the classic puzzle game, pitting you against 98 other players with one goal: be the last player remaining.
Six years later, it remains extremely popular, and that’s in part to special themed Maximus Cup events! This weekend, a Xenoblade Chronicles X Maximus Cup will take place, celebrating the upcoming remastered release of the Wii U game.
As with all other Maximus Cups, this event allows gamers to earn special rewards based on the game, including special art, music and Tetromino designs. You’ll have to accumulate a total of 100 Event Points to unlock the Xenoblade items in game, which are earned based on your performance.
The 46th Maximus Cup featuring Xenoblade Chronicles X takes place from 12 a.m. PT on March 14th, 2025 to 11:59 p.m. PT on March 17th, 2025. You must have an active Nintendo Switch Online account to participate.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition releases on Nintendo Switch on March 20th.
