It’s been a long time coming, but the console port of the N64 classic Glover will finally be rolling onto modern platforms in 2025. In a brief trailer from QUByte Interactive, we see that not only will the port contain all of the modern accouterments you’d expect from a retro re-release, it will also be developed by the resurrected Bleem Company. Talk about retro.
What consoles will Glover release on?
If you’re thinking a Glover re-release sounds familiar, it actually hit PC (via Steam) in 2022 and was developed by Piko Interactive. This was supposed to be quickly followed by console ports, but somewhere along the line, plans changed. New publisher QUByte seems to have stepped in to course correct and with the help of Bleem, Glover will finally see the light of day on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
A brief history of Bleem
Bleem is certainly a blast from the past for anyone who lived through the fifth console generation. For a quick recap, Bleem was an emulator developed in the late ’90s to allow PlayStation games to run on PC. It eventually transitioned to Dreamcast, allowing people to buy official PlayStation discs and run them on Sega hardware. Sony caught wind of the company and attempted to sue them into oblivion. While Sony wasn’t successful at winning any of its lawsuits, the legal pressure was enough to cause Bleem to close up shop in 2001. Bleem was eventually revived by Piko Interactive in 2021, 20 years after its original closure.
