2023’s Japanese 3D platformer Bakeru is currently on a bit of a comeback tour. Following its exclusive release overseas last November, almost a full year later Bakeru made it to Western digital store shelves in September on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Now, thanks to Spike Chunsoft, we can confirm that Bakeru is also getting a physical release in February 2025. Preorders are up now on VideoGamesPlus.ca for a USD equivalent of $40.49. The preorder page confirms a release date of February 25, 2025.

If you haven’t played Bakeru yet, it’s one of Nintendo Switch’s most underrated 3D platformers. The creativity in the level designs that mimics a cartoony recreation of Japan is top notch and the surprising abundance of gameplay styles are all done well. Not only do you platform in Bakeru, but you race, maneuver a fighting spaceship that shoots laser beams and even pilot a giant mech against gargantuan bosses.

Interestingly, Bakeru was also released on Steam in September. No word yet on whether other consoles in addition to Nintendo Switch will receive the game as well.
