When Furyu announced its upcoming action RPG Reynatis, fans of various Square Enix franchises were quick to point out the similarities. One of the biggest points of comparison was to The World Ends With You, with the game taking place in the same Tokyo’s Shibuya ward.
It turns out both publishers are up for leaning into those similarities with the announcement of an official collaboration which sees characters from Neo: The World Ends With You enter the world of Reynatis. Check out the first trailer:
Of course the Square Enix connections go deeper than this, with the game’s scenario being written by Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy X) and the music coming from Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV).
Reynatis will hit the Switch in Japan this July and on September 27th in the west.
